Unidentified, but very convincing, ant mimic from Muñeco, Orosi, Costa Rica

Unidentified leaf hopper from Muecos, Orosi, Costa Rica – This was my first attempt at capturing a leaf hopper taking flight. In this case, the camera was too fast and the hopper was just starting to open it’s wings. I spent four hours just to get this shot. Unlike jumping spiders, one can’t predict when, from where, or in which direction a leaf hopper will take flight.
